Dr. Eng. Plamen Tashkov, together with his wife Mrs. Gergana Tashkova, is the owner and manager of "MARS Armor" Ltd. - a company engaged in the production of body armor and other ballistic personal protective equipment.
Dr. Tashkov began his career in personal ballistic protection as part of a research team at the Military Research Institute of the Ministry of Defense of Bulgaria. After closing the department, in 2002 he founded MARS Armor Ltd., initially as a consulting and trading company, and one year later, in 2003, the company started its own production of body armor, ballistic plates and accessories.
In 2012, the new MARS Armor factory opens in Kostinbrod, where production expanded and the product range included body armor, bulletproof panels, shields and accessories, as production volumes increased. At that time, the company employs nearly 110 people.
