Summer gathering of the members of FBN - Bulgaria in Sozopol
From 11-13.09.2015, The Annual Summer Gathering of FBN Bulgaria took place in the Santa Marina complex, Sozopol.
The beautiful Santa Marina complex, part of the FPI group, fascinated the members of the association with its location, services, and comfort. The combination of forest and beach made the meeting both fruitful and enjoyable. The meeting was attended by about 11 members of the Association with their families and representatives of NextGen.
The beginning of the meeting was marked in the showroom of Dars Auto-Burgas, where Mr. Sabkov told us about the development and challenges before the family business and the thorny path to success. In addition to the presentation in the showroom of the company, the official representative of Mercedes in Burgas, Mr. Sabkov led the members around the family printing house, which over the years has continued to win the trust of many foreign partners and international awards in this field.
It was a great pleasure to hear the presentation of our kind hosts Ani and Mario Zaharievi (FPI) about the over 20 years of experience of the company. They shared the most common problems, obstacles in management, family involvement in business, and, of course, future development plans. This is one of the main tasks of the association - to enable its members to share experience, knowledge, mistakes, and problems with like-minded people.
The presentations were followed by a discussion led by the current chairman of the Association - Mr. Atanas Simeonov (S Group). Mr. Simeonov introduced the new executive director of the Association - Mrs. Emilia Miteva and discussed the plans, future initiatives of the Association, and upcoming events. Mr. Dimitar Valev, the current chairman of Next Gen, announced his ideas and shared upcoming initiatives of Next Gen.
All participants agreed on several ideas for the development of the association. First of all, that the Association needs to grow and most of the members took the initiative to help this by recommending candidates who share the principles and philosophy of the Association. Everyone agreed that the initiative of family companies to host future events and share their experience is essential to promote the integrity of the family business.
For the better organization and activity of members, it was decided to initiate long-term planning of events and the inclusion of additional activities such as presentations and lectures on pre-specified topics that will benefit and interest the participants. Other activities to take place in the future are team-building initiatives and entertainment programs to enhance the active participation of members.
Unfortunately for everyone, the planned boat trip was canceled due to the weather conditions, but instead everyone visited the Archaeological Museum in Sozopol, the Old Town, and the Church of St. Cyril and Methodius, where the relics of St. John the Baptist are exhibited. Dinner was provided by the restaurant Ancient Well in the old town, where in addition to the incredibly delicious food we saw a well preserved from the 4th century BC.
A worthy finale of the Annual Gathering was the charming bar La Maison, located in the heart of the Marina. The fun lasted until the wee hours of the night.
